Austin Scores High On List of Best Cities for Business
Austin seems to come in tops on many different lists lately and now it can add another award to its list. Austin recently ranked number 7 on Forbes magazine‘s latest “Best Places for Business and Careers” list. Austin was not the only Texas city on top of the list. San Antonio came in number 8 on the list and Dallas ranked number 10.
Things that were considered in making Austin top of the list were the low-cost, pro-business regulatory environment that the state of Texas offers. The state of Texas also fared very well during the recent recession and bounced back quickly. Forbes ranked the city of Austin 165th for doing business, but 3rd for job growth. The list also named Austin number 16 for educational attainment. See the entire list here.
Forbes also looked at things such as past and projected job growth, costs of business and living, income growth, educational attainment and projected economic growth, crime rates, cultural and recreational opportunities, net migration patterns and proximity of highly-ranked universities in determining their list.
