Live In Austin: The Next Big Boom Town
The city of Austin ranked number one in the recent Forbes’ list of the next big boom towns. It came as no surprise that Austin consistently rates among the top of best cities to live in when it comes to jobs. The city of Austin is growing and thriving in many aspects. Forbes enlisted the help of Mark Schill at the Praxis Strategy Group to help come up with list of the next big boom towns. Schill assessed over 52 large metro areas with populations of at least a million to determine their results. The number one thing that the study looked at was job growth over the past decade, and mainly the last two years, which accounted for one-third of the ranking. The remaining two-thirds of the study looked at were a wide array of demographic factors. Family formation such as the percentage of growth in children ages 5 to 17 were considered. Growth in educated migration, population growth and, a broad measurement of attractiveness to immigrants were all considered in the results.
