Nestled alongside the Barton Creek Greenbelt in Southwest Austin, the neighborhood of Travis Country takes its natural beauty seriously.

When residents make the short drive back to Travis Country, they return to a small piece of the Texas Hill Country. The neighborhood boasts a scenic pond home to ducks, fish and turtles. It also has a wildflower center that holds a diverse range of plants and animals native to the Hill Country, including the rare plateau Gerardia – a plant found only in Central Texas. Observant visitors to the wildflower center can even see the Rufous hummingbird and the larvae of the famed monarch butterfly,
In addition, residents can stroll through the Blue Valley Recreation Area along a well-maintained hiking trail.

For the more adventurous, Travis Country’s location on the southwestern edge of Austin provides easy access to the Hill Country. Parks such as Hamilton Pool, Pedernales Falls and Krause Springs are within an hour’s drive.

The neighborhood itself has long enjoyed a sterling reputation as one of the best-kept communities in Austin. First developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s just west of MoPac Boulevard and north of Southwest Parkway, Travis Country has maintained its character. Homes are spacious, and lots offer room to roam.

Some of the best shopping centers in Austin are within a 10-minute drive, including Barton Creek Square Mall and the burgeoning retail district along Brodie Lane. Downtown Austin is a 15-minute drive from Travis Country.
